Business Start-up
| The Development Association
works with the Northeast Entrepreneur Fund (NEEF) to help
entrepreneurs to start their own businesses. The Northeast
Entrepreneur Fund offers one-on-one counseling, education and a loan
fund which can loan up to $100,000 to existing businesses that wish to
stabilize or expand. NEEF offers a free Introduction Workshop twice a
month and Core Four classes 8 times a year in the Superior/Duluth area.
The Development Association also manages the Superior Business Center, Inc. on behalf of the City of Superior and Douglas County. The Business Center is a non-profit corporation whose mission is to foster economic development in Superior and Douglas County through the provision of both leased space and support/technical services to small businesses. The Business Center also houses a fully-equipped shared-use commercial kitchen for lease by the hour to food caterers, and those involved in food product development.
